1/14/19

Just a few things...

Our department meeting is scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday 1/15) in the Lecture Hall

The February 5th meeting will be mandatory - only coaches who have games are excused. Cancel any after-school tutoring for that day.  We will be discussing how we will address writing next year, new benchmarks and a few other things.

Team meetings are scheduled for January 24th - coverages will be assigned to those who need it.  Please take a look at NoRedInk prior to the meetings.

Small Request for our Senior instructors

Our friend Genevieve needs our help with a quick senior survey.  On Monday, we are asking all senior English teachers to take 5 minutes out of their classes to allow the students to complete a yearbook survey. The seniors, historically, do not always respond to surveys, so doing it together in class will help us get better results.

My suggestion is to post the link to your Google Classroom or Canvas page and use it as your “do now” on Monday.  If you are absent on Monday, you can do it upon your return.

Benchmark alert - please make sure you are planning your benchmark soon.  It should be issued by the end of January.

New Courses -  Junior instructors  - I will send you a student survey  Junior instructors will post the Google Form for the students to respond to.  This is an interest survey for our proposed courses for English IV.  I will send this to you sometime today.  Please make sure the students complete and submit it.

Lesson Plans - Assignments are now posted in Google Classroom for January and February.

2nd Cycle Observations -  the 2nd round of observations will begin soon.  If you have a specific lesson that you would like me to evaluate, contact me for scheduling!

WONDERFUL THINGS!

Congratulations to the boys and girls swim teams  - both won the Passaic County Championship this weekend.  This is only the third time in history a school has won both titles (we did it last year too). Also, the girls swim team is undefeated.  The team is coached by Genevieve and Laura...
(see if you can find Laura in the pic!)
